Located just steps from the beach in the heart of Tybee Island, this remarkable home blends rich history, classic architectural details, and spacious accommodations to create an unforgettable setting for family vacations, group getaways, and relaxing beach escapes.

Recognized as a National Historic House and originally built in the late 1800s, Eisenhower's Retreat is one of Tybee Island's treasured historic homes. Thoughtfully restored to preserve its original character, the cottage showcases vintage pine floors, antique-inspired furnishings, and historic architectural details throughout. Guests can enjoy the nostalgia of a classic Tybee beach cottage while still benefiting from modern amenities designed for today's travelers.

Designed to comfortably accommodate larger families and groups, Eisenhower's Retreat features four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a half bathroom, multiple gathering spaces, and ample outdoor space. 

A spacious screened porch welcomes guests upon arrival and provides the perfect setting for morning coffee, afternoon conversations, or relaxing evenings after a day at the beach. Inside, the living room serves as the heart of the home, offering comfortable seating, an electric fireplace, and plenty of space for gathering with family and friends. The adjacent dining area creates an inviting setting for shared meals and game nights, while the fully equipped kitchen provides everything needed to prepare beach snacks, family dinners, and holiday feasts.

All four bedrooms are located on the upper level of the home. The primary suite features a King bed with ensuite bathroom complete with a classic clawfoot soaking tub and oversized walk-in shower. Two additional guest bedrooms each offer a Queen bed, while the fourth bedroom features two Full beds, making it an ideal space for children, teens, or additional family members. A second full hallway bathroom, shared by the guest bedrooms, includes its own clawfoot shower/tub combination, preserving the home's historic charm while providing modern convenience.

For additional flexibility, a bonus sleeping area is located on the lower level of the home and is accessed separately by exiting the main house and entering through a private exterior entrance. This unique retreat features a Queen bed, two Twin beds, a television, window-unit air conditioning, and convenient access to a half bathroom located beneath the home, making it ideal for older children, teens, or guests seeking additional privacy.

Situated just a short stroll from the beach, guests can spend their days collecting shells, swimming, soaking up the sun, or watching the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean. What is parking like for this home?
Guests will have access to parking for up to three standard vehicles in the designated parking area directly at the home. If your group is traveling with additional vehicles, parking may be available at the Oceanfront Cottage Rentals office with advance approval. Please contact our team prior to arrival so we can assist with parking arrangements.
