Movies on the Island
Many beach vacationers are seeking family friendly events. Too sunburnt to beach bum? Although the closest movie theatre is in Savannah, if you’re interested in seeing a flick on the island, there are several options! Check out the showing of “Sing” at Memorial Park on June 17th right after sunset. This marks the first of many “Movies in the Park” this summer!
Bummed out about a rainy day? Stay dry indoors at Tybee Post Theater and check out their Summer Family Movie Series, featuring movies like “Moana” and “The Jungle Book”. They are also featuring “Gray’s Reef Tuesdays” which includes weekly showings of fascinating films about marine life and the Georgia coast.
Sunset Evenings
No children to entertain? Tybee also offers things to do for couples craving a date night. The Tybee Island Lighthouse is offering sunset tours during the month of June. These tours are small and cozy. There is no better way to end a beach day than to witness the sprawling Tybee sunset with 360 degree views from the lighthouse. After the sunset, end your romantic evening with local music at the Tybee Post Theater; “Tybee City Limits” is a recurring event that features local musicians.
