Tybee Island is a Beach town with about 3 miles of coastline and a contagious vibe. Are you looking to make the most of your trip and not break the bank? Here is our list of top 5 things to do for under $5.00.

  1. Visit the Marine Science Center.

The Tybee Island Marine Science center is the hub for information about Tybee Island’s diverse ecosystem. The Science center is open daily from 10am-5pm. The brand-new Marine Science Center will be complete in 2020. One ticket to the Tybee Marine Science center is $5.

  1. Fly a Kite.

You don’t have to be a professional Kite flyer to fly a Kite on Tybee. The Ocean breezes will make even the first time Kite flyer look like a pro. You’ll lose track of time as you practice your Kite flying skills on the beach. We love this Kite on Amazon for under $5.

  1. Search for Seashells.

This one is even less than $5…it’s FREE! The trick to seashell searching is all in the timing. Make sure you have a bag to hold all of your “shelly treasures”.

  1. Satisfy your Sweet Tooth at Seaside Sweets.

Seaside Sweets is located on Strand Avenue. This little beach shop has candy, gelato, milkshakes, coffee drinks, ice cream and so much more! Five dollars is more than enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. So grab your treat and stroll down to Tybee’s famous Pier and Pavillion!

  1. Capture a Memory.

Tybee’s beautiful setting and conveniently placed props are perfect for making memories and capturing them with a photo. Take a couple’s photo on one of Tybee’s beach swings, a family photo during a Tybee sunrise or even a selfie while you relax on the beach. Be clever and don’t forget to tag us when you share it!
