Lannie and I enjoy boating around Tybee. We are fortunate to live on Tybee Creek where our dock and boat are located. Lannie restored an older Boston Whaler and we just love taking it out to see what we can discover.
When the opportunity presents, we spend our free time exploring Little Tybee. I want to share with you all some footage of us enjoying the beauty of our area.
We passed by AJ’s Dockside Restaurant  and headed over to Myrtle Island, one of the 18 islands that make up “Little Tybee.” The first video is a great place to fish because of the giant, dead trees that are in the water as a result of a campfire that burned the area several years ago.

Later, we headed off to see Buck Hammock and then came back to the south bank of Tybee Creek. The oyster rakes are beautiful and a great structure to fish. We enjoyed looking at the homes at Spanish Hammock, and our ride ended with a beautiful sunset.
If you have ever tried to capture the beauty of dolphins jumping, you know how hard it is! One time we were lucky enough to capture a video of dolphins frolicking in Mosquito Ditch as we were cutting through Tybee Creek heading for a deserted beach on the Atlantic. That was another spectacular sunset evening.

Here is a fun video of our friend, Mac Kitchens, on his motorized stand up board on Tybee Creek.

Another day, we were on the sandbar that extends from the southern tip of Tybee overlooking Little Tybee, when a motorized parasailer flew by. That was a neat experience!
When you are walking along the southernmost tip of Tybee, you can see Little Tybee Island. The term Tybee Creek is interchangeable with “Back River” by the locals. They are one and the same, so don’t get confused.
It is a joy to share the same love of boating and exploration of nature with your best friend and husband. Thank you sweetheart for the ride!
