Vacationing with Pets on Tybee Island

Tybee Trips with Pets

Although Tybee Island does not allow pets on its beach, there are still plenty of good reasons to bring along your furry friends. There’s no reason to leave them behind, batting their sad puppy eyes, when we here at OFC have several pet-friendly properties. There are areas on and near the island where they can play and enjoy time off with their family. After all, it’s not a family vacation if you’re missing your canine companions!

Dog-friendly areas

Ironically, Little Tybee Island is over 2x the size of Tybee Island, and is uninhabited. Dogs are allowed to roam the beaches of Little Tybee, the only stipulation being that you leave the pristine beaches as clean as you found them. Little Tybee is only accessible by boat. If you can’t fit your dog in a kayak or on a paddleboard, there are several boat charter options on the island.

Tybee Island has two dog parks, one for dogs under 20 lbs and one for dogs over 20 lbs. The parks are located on the island’s north end near the police station. It is important to ensure your dogs have a place to expend their energy – but again, if seen on Tybee’s beach, there is a hefty fine. These dog parks offer an excellent alternative!

Things to keep in mind

  • Always clean up after your dog to help keep Tybee tidy
  • The City of Tybee reserves the right to break a car window if animal cruelty is spotted by leaving a dog in the car
  • Dogs must be on a leash in all public areas

Pet-friendly properties

We offer several pet-friendly properties with very reasonable pet fees. It is a one-time fee of $95 per dog.

We look forward to having you and your pets stay with us soon!

*Note: Some of our properties only allow dogs that are 25 lbs and under. Please ask about weight limitations when reserving a property!
