TYBEE SALUTES HEROES EVENT
Visit Tybee, The American Legion Post #154, the City of Tybee Island, Oceanfront Cottage Rentals and other participating rental companies, other local businesses, and the entire community of Tybee Island are excited to join together for the inaugural island-wide Tybee Salutes Heroes 2015. Active and retired military personnel are invited to bring their families for a relaxing weekend of activities on Tybee Island. Weekend highlights include family-friendly events at the American Legion and the Tybee Salutes Heroes Parade on Saturday, November 14th at 1:00pm. As part of this event rental costs have been waived for the over 100 selected active and retired Military Families to spend the 3-day weekend on Tybee. Oceanfront Cottage Rentals will be extending a 25% military discount to families attending Tybee Salutes Heroes. For availability, please click here.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR TYBEE SALUTES HEROES
Friday, November 13:
- Families will receive a welcome bag donated by Visit Tybee filled with coupons and discounts from local businesses.
Saturday, November 14:
- Official welcome breakfast for military families at American Legion Tybee Post #154.
- Tybee Salutes Heroes Parade on Butler Avenue beginning at 1:00pm. Parade Route: 14th Street to Butler Ave., then North to Memorial Park (5th Street and Butler Ave.)
- There will be a ceremony held at the Veterans Memorial at Memorial Park directly after the parade.
- Celebration at American Legion Tybee Post #154 and featuring complimentary food, entertainment, children’s activities, and cash bar.
Sunday, November 15:
- Rest and relaxation on Tybee Island.
Monday, November 16:
- Check-out by 10 a.m.
