Green water fish with your boat or call a captain for some wonderful inshore fishing. Our captain’s know “the spots” to catch your next meal. Surf fish. Fish from the Pier and Pavilion or Back River fishing pier.
The mission of the Tybee Island Marine Science Center is to promote the appreciation, conservation, and understanding of the marine ecosystem of coastal Georgia through education and service. Marine education programs on Tybee Island began in 1987 with beach walks and seining. These classes were offered as an outreach program from the University of Georgia Marine Extension Service. After tremendous response, the outreach program merited a location of its own.
Our area has a wide selection of golf courses within 30 minutes of Tybee Island. You may enjoy the course on Wilmington Island (15 minutes away) or try the Hunter Army Airforce Course. While our troops have been deployed they have been offering discounts to keep their course in great shape. There are over 8 courses in our area open to the public.
Crosswinds Golf Club is the area’s most unique golfing venue offering 27 holes of some of Savannah’s best golf. We are known for our excellent greens and course conditions throughout the year. Our 18 hole championship course is an open, parkland style design with no homes anywhere on the course. The Par 3 course is a true golf design, not a pitch-n-putt. Golf under the lights on the par 3 course! Illuminated with stadium quality lighting, this course is the perfect place to practice your short game – day or night! 
Tybee Island is abundant with live music and over 35 restaurants. Many restaurants also have live entertainment while you enjoy a casual meal. You can walk along the Strand near the Pier and Pavilion and visit many restaurants and hear the bands. Meet Miss Sylvia at Doc’s Bar. She just turned 100 and still plays tambourine and maraca. Dance the night away or just relax and enjoy the ambiance.
Explore Fort Pulaski and the Cockspur Lighthouse. Climb the Tybee Island Lighthouse Station. Take a Historic Savannah Tour. Visit the Mighty 8th Airforce Museum. Take a Black History Tour. Go birding with one of our many naturalists, take an eco tour, visit Little Tybee Island and explore a barrier island. Bring your camera!
