Tybee Island has always been a favorite location for movie scouts, with many films being filmed on location on our beautiful unique island. Films such as “The Last Song“ staring Mylie Cyrus filmed on Tybee in 2009, and most recently “Dirty Grandpa“ starring Zac Efron and Robert DeNiro filmed in 2016. Well Zac Efron must have loved the Tybee vibe, as he is back filming on Tybee with Duane “The Rock” Jonson. The pair are set to star in the big screen adaptation of “Baywatch“, the long running American action drama series, about the Los Angeles County lifeguards who patrol the beaches of Los Angeles County, California. viewers will be happy to see some familiar faces in the film, such as David Hasselhoff’s character “Mitch Buchanon”.
The trio have been spotted out and about on Tybee Island, during filming, and have taken time out to meet with locals and fans for photo ops.
